What is Doxa?

Epiphany Fellowship’s worship team, Doxa, is comprised of both singers and musicians. The Greek word doxa (δοχα) literally means “glory.” The glory of God is the revelation and manifestation of all that He is and has done, most clearly seen in the person and work of Jesus Christ (John 1:14,18; Colossians 1:15-20, 2:9). The scriptures proclaim that the chief end of man is “to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever” (Ephesians 1:4-6; Isaiah 43:6-7; Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Psalm 73:25-28). We are defined by this purpose, and through the medium of music, Doxa seeks to proclaim the “light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4b-5)

“For God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
